Once you have attended Trauma & Language or Trauma, Stigma & Belonging,  this training session is an opportunity to explore and reflect on how interventions can not only prevent system harm but can provide 'wise opportunities' that support recovery. While it is understood that you may not directly provide trauma recovery, it is very much understood that your relational approach will be therapeutic challenging systemic barriers which can make a fundamental and profound difference. 
 
In this session we will:
  • Develop an understanding of the impact and legacy of trauma
  • Explore the dance between our own lived experiences and those we are working with 
  • Engage in our own perspectives and biases in our practice and how we can deepen self awareness
  • The science of safety

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Show an advanced understanding of trauma
  • Identify and support trauma-responsive practices
  • Understand trauma’s physiological effects
  • Describe evidence-based interventions
  • Address ethical and professional considerations
  • Identify strategies that reduce re-traumatisation risks
  • Foster organisational wellbeing
  • Promote trauma recovery and growth
  • Examine the role of community and social justice

You will have needed to have previously attended a session on Trauma Informed Language or Trauma, Stigma & Belonging in order to book onto this course.

 

Please note: 

As the session is online and due to the nature of the topic, all attendees are expected to have their cameras on for the entire session (except during scheduled breaks). It is important that the trainer can monitor delegates' engagement and emotional wellbeing throughout the session. 

  • If you have any concerns or are aware that your IT equipment may be faulty, please do not book onto the course, as you will not be able participate fully in the session. Subsequently not achieving the learning outcomes necessary to complete the course. 
  • Any attendees who turn off their cameras during the session without a valid reason will be removed from the meeting and will not complete the course.
